 -Getting approved may be more difficult than with normal insurance
 If you don't have issues with the above, then there really isn't any downside.  Ask Geico for full coverage on a 20 year old Nissan and they'll likely look at you crazy and then give you an insane quote.  If you do need to make a claim, you'll still likely have issues if you want them to cover aftermarket parts and such.
